Hi Neil,
The helmeted gecko was the subject of an article by Jim Pether in the Jan
2001 issue of Reptiles magazine. I went to their website but couldn't find
the article there. It may be possible to get a copy at a local pet shop.
Let me know if you aren't successful in locating a copy.
There were at least 2 Nephrurus care sheets on the web but they seem to have
disappeared. One was by Petra Spiess of Rocky Mountain Herpetoculture. The
other was by Sam Cunningham and posted at Gecko Links. I have a copy of
both. The May 1996 issue of Reptiles magazine had a nice Nephrurus article
by Ernie Wagner and Casey Lazik which is worth getting hold of.
I myself do both of these species and enjoy them a lot. I find the
Nephrurus levis levis to be fairly easy to care for and breed. I'm
incubating geckonia eggs but haven't had any hatch yet. Jon Boone and Stay
Yankee are both true experts on Geckonia and I'm sure they would be happy to
respond to any specific questions if they are around.
Let me know if you need help in getting any of the references mentioned
above.
