Hi-
You must be talking about a leopard gecko?
I find that my gravid females bask in the hotspot during the day much more
than normal. Actually its one of the ways I can tell they are gravid. One
female puts her head in the hidebox, with her hind quarters outside under the
hotspot.
As for sleeping, I think that leopards sleep 23.5 hours a day, gravid or not.
If this is a new behavior for your geck, I would check the temp and humidity
first.
Has she lost her appetite or lost weight? Have you weighed her? Its a good
thing to track weight.
Also, realize that the gecko may be quite active while you are asleep.
My gravid P.cepediana overcome their shyness and bask more than normal and in
the open. Can't tell if they're asleep though. :)
