Sorry I can only answer the first of your questions on
U. phantasticus. Glaw & Vences's book (Amphibians and
Reptiles of Madagascar) has a locality record of this
species that show it to be found on the central east
coast of Madagascar. They specifically mention specimens
found in Andasibe, Ankehiheny, plus other places. The
book does not really cover your other questions.
