I have seen this in breeding females. I use calcium/D3 dissolved in water and
administered orally with a dropper. I do this once every week or two to prevent
these sort of problems when I can't get land snails. If the problem
is serious, I
use a product called Calcium Sandoz which dissolves in water and mix in a bit
of Miner-All (indoor type with D3).
