This past March I displayed a group of my geckos at the Chicago
Herpetological Society's "Reptile Fest" weekend. This event is held annually,
and the CHS believes it is the largest exhibit of its kind (no animals are
soldthe event is purely educational). Thousands of people attend.

I had a large table and few animals, but it occurred to me that if I
participate next year (and I hope I do), a large poster exhibit about geckos
(kind of a junior high science fair thing) would reach a lot of people,
especially when I wasn't at the table. The problem I have is that my
photography skills are just competent enough to be an embarrassment. But then
I found the GGA photo archives!

What I would like is permission from those of you who have submitted photos
to the GGA to use your photos (with credit, of course!) for my poster. I
thought it would be easier for interested photographers to give me permission
beforehand; then I would select the photos I thought would work best and
verify before I used them.

This is a chance to reach thousands of people who are largely NOT "reptile"
people, but just members of the public. Their questions are very interesting,
and their en- thusiasm rewarding. I can tell you that my Crested Geckos made
quite an impression, especially since I had a pair of hatchlings and
incubating eggs with me.

Finally, I'd especially like to communicate with any gecko people in the
Chicago area.

                        Thanks to all!

                        John Cebula
