Hi guys and gals,

For temperature reasons, I decided to turn off my 7W red night lite on my
Uroplatus sikkorae tank.
I decided to try an 18" black light flourescent bulb, thinking it might
produce less heat, or at least not direct it into the tank, as the standard
incandescents do...
Is this type of light ok for the geckos? It is certainly bright enough for
me to observe the geckos, but I wonder if it could be damaging to their
eyes. Does the bulb provide any useful UVB light?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Neal Grant

Added bonus: I sprinkled just a bit of Avitron liquid vitamins on the
crickets, and it glows really nice under the black lite!
