Did anyone see this show this morning (Saturday, 8/25) on PBS? It was basically a 30-minute infomercial for the GGA (and geckos in general), and showed several of Neil Tyreman's animals, as well as some of John Acorn's own gecko pets. John showed off his old International Gecko Society membership card (from 1992), mourned its' passing, then said that there was a new, even better group available - showed people how to get to the GGA site, and urged everyone to join up... Very cool! Of course, this may result in a flurry of under-8 year old members, but it's good to start them young, don't you think? On a personal aside - my 2-1/2 year old son, Darwin, was watching and kept trying to grab the geckos off the screen. He kept saying "my BIG gecko!"... His favorite was the Crested Gecko (Rhacodactylus ciliatus). Guess I'll have to sign him up for the GGA, too... ;-) Check your local PBS listings - it may be on at a different time in your area.
