First off, you never want excess crickets to be loose in a cage.  For some
reason, they tend to stress out the animals.

I feed my adult henkeli about 4 crickets every two to three days.  I have one
pair that tend to eat more than my other pair.  So, one pair is on an every
other day feeding regiment, and the other is on an every third day regiment.  I
heavily dust the crickets with Calcium w/D3.

I have seen a very strong reaction by the females to land snails.  But, in
general, the reaction to crickets is quite good.  I raise the hatchlings the
same way, just by varying cricket size and quantities.

Given that they are eating, I doubt the animals are unhealthy.  My guess is
that you may be over-feeding.
