It happens. I have had 1.2 U. phantasticus since Sept 2000 and this summer they all died within a month of the last. It really sucks. They were proven breeders too. 1.1 of my sikorae died too, though the male wasn't doing good in the first place.
In your case, the stress of the eggs probably killed it. You just have too keep the humidity up, and try and get rid of the parasites. In my case, I think something went around and infected them. I have one sikorae left, she's my pride and joy sikorae too. I'm gonna try and take REAL good care of her. Some people have CB Uroplatus species. They're not offered too often.
