Hello Daniel,
Do you know or have any idea where in general your Hemidactylus originated from?
If you have any access to books such as Handbook to Middle-East Reptiles By
Leviton, Anderson, Adler and Minton, or Lizards of Iran by Steven Anderson, or Arthur
Loveridge's African Gekkonidae, you should use the diagnostic keys in these books to
try to guess the species you have.
Although it is quite possible you may have an undescribed form, there have
literally been several hundred names described under the genus Hemidactylus in the
recent 200 years. If we limit this discussion to Middle-eastern forms, many of them
have been synonmized with H. turcicius, H. brookii, H. yerburii, H. mercatorius, etc.
If you have any of Dr. Arnold Kluge's species lists you can see the list of names
associated with each species.
It's quite possible you may have a form of Hemidactylus from East Africa. Both
the East African and Middle-eastern forms have many similarities.
As far as I know all forms of arboreal and semi-arboreal Hemidactylus (and
relatives, Bogertia, Cosymbotus, Teratolepis, and "Dravidogecko") are egg-gluers"

regards,

Ron Van Heest
