I have two Gekko ulikovskii's and just received a large 33 Gallon tank that I'm going to be placing them in. Before I do, I want to know if anyone out there can tell me what type of habitat these little guys come from. Right now I have them on Bark substrate with a forest type atmosphere..They seem content. I'd like to create my terrarium into a half & half, half terrestrial for the geckos, with a small "pond" for some small fish. Is this a good idea to do with these guys? Someone told me they were actually more suitable in the desert type but that the sand substrate would impact them. Anyone know anything about that either? I've attached a picture of the species, incase no one is familiar with them.
