Hi!

I'm sorry to bother you guys with this, but I really need your advice. You see, our
leo needs vet's attention, but it's 10 pm over here and tomorrow is Finland's
Independence day (why is it that this kind of probs always show up at the worst
possible timing), so I'm afraid it takes a while before I can see a decent vet. I'm
hoping I can reach one tomorrow, so basically I'd like to know what to do with him the
next 18 hours. We're talking about a male adult leo. About 10 minutes ago I checked
him and initially thought he's developed a cloacal prolapse. After inspecting him with
a wet Q-tip I was a bit relieved, no innards are exposed. But still the cloaca won't
close properly and he's got something hard and whitish attached to his right half of
the cloaca. To me it looks like it's dried urea that's really tightly attached, but
when I moistened that place and also dropped a few drops of water I couldn't get it
loose. With foreceps I might succeed but I'm afraid to try that 'ca!
use I really don't have a clue what it is and it's possible that it's a tiny part of
intestine, bladder or hemipenis that's dried. But what ever it covers about one third
of the cloacal opening and is attached from it's right side and is presicely at the
opening of the cloaca (and not protruding from there). The surroundings of the cloaca
are a little reddish referring to an infection, AFAIK. Otherwise the leo is in good
shape and that particular area didn't seem to be sore.

Any comments would be much appreciated!

TIA,

Teemu
