Here are some characters that can be used to differentiate the two
species:
Toes flattened with a fringe - S. doriae - Yes; S. petrii - No.
Preanal pores - S. doriae has them while S. petrii does not.
Number of scale rows on the bottom of third toe - S. doriae 5-13;
S. petrii has 3.
Contact between rostral and nostril - S. doriae -Yes; S. petrii - No.
