Dan,
It is OK to post pictures to the list, as long as they are less than 50 Kb
(50,000 bytes) in size. All pictures posted need to be gecko related and
relevant to the message thread.
It is one thing to post a large picture through e-mail as you mentioned, but
we all have to remember that our single e-mail post to the GGA Listserve is
then retransmitted to hundreds of recipients. Many of these recipients have
slower modem connections which may take 5 to 20 minutes to download one post
with a large picture. Others on the list have limited e-mail storage and one
large picture post can completely fill their mailbox preventing other email
messages from arriving.
I have made some changes on the GGA ListServer that will hopefully help
prevent this in the future.
