I hope that by alcohol you don't mean rubbing alcohol (isopropyl), but 
ethanol (ETOH... "grain alcohol").  The differences are significant from 
specimen prep perspectives.  Ethanol is the best.  70% (140 Proof) is 
ideal.  But really, for DNA, probably anything higher than that would work 
too.  The good thing about preserving in ETOH is that the specimen can be 
converted to a skeleton if so desired.  If it were in isopropyl or 
formalin, that would not work as well.

Keep me posted on the "final resting place" of the specimen.
