Since I plant directly in the substrate, I use SuperSoil. It doesn't
have perlite, etc. in it. I usually put a thin layer of charcoal in
first, then 3"-4" of SuperSoil, plant the plants, then sprinkle a thin
layer of fine orchid bark.
