Ksenia's questions.....

They should first get a copy of Sczczerbak and Golubev's Geckos of
the USSR. There is an in-depth review of Alsophylax pipiens and the genus
Alsophylax. In fact Dr. Golubev, now in Seattle, Washington, did his doctoral
thesis on the relationships of the genera Alsophylax, Bunopus, and
Tropiocolotes.

Secondly, they should contact some of the Russian and American
researchers that could help them. Dr. Natalia Ananjeva at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] (from St. Petersburg, Russia) would be a good start.

Lastly, there is another server limited to the study of herpetology. This
one is run out of the University of California, Davis. Julie (the Gecko
Ranch) probably knows of it. Ksenia's questions would probably be answered
there.

I look forward to reading Ksenia's research in future issues of the herp
journals (Russian Journal of Herpetology, Herpetologica, Copeia, etc..)
