thanks everyone for your responses, they've eased my new-mommy anxiety quite
a bit. he's a little upset that i had to move his house to get to the
little buggers but should calm down in a bit. overall, he seems okay...

now, another newbie question, kind of two-fold:

how warm does the warm end of his tank have to be? the guy at the pet shop,
who breeds leos and has for a few years now, says he keeps his tanks around
75-80 on the warm end. we got an under tank heating pad, but it didn't seem
to be warming it up past 69 degrees, so we purchased a small ceramic heat
lamp with a 40 watt nocturnal bulb (reddish light) to provide additional
heat from above. the thermometer is on the back of the tank on the warm
end, about 3/4 of the way towards the bottom, and it reads a steady 75
degrees now. is that warm enough for him to be happy or should we get a
stronger bulb for the ceramic lamp? the substrate is warm if i lay my hand
down on it. the guy at the shop said if the substrate is warm, then he
should be okay... but i just wanted a few other opinions. any help is
greatly appreciated.

also, i was wondering how often i need to spray him and his tank with
water... i've read different info on this, and was wondering if anyone could
suggest anything. i know when he goes into a shed i need to make sure that
he gets enough moisture too. how often should i spray and how does that
change when he's shedding?

sorry for the long post, but Teagan (that's his name) is my first reptile
and i want to make sure i give him a happy, comfortable home. i want to be
a good mommy to my new buddy! thanks everyone!

Anna :)
