[Gecko] probe placement

I recently set up a rack system for my Nephrurus l. levis, and I was wondering where I should place the probe from the thermostat.  I usually just place the probe directly on the Flex-Watt, but I think that there has to be a better place to put the probe for more accurate temp. regulation.  Should I put the probe in an empty box over the heat tape?  Where do you guys place the probes in your racks?  I use Helix controllers for my other racks, but I decided to go with Big Apple's thermostat for this particular one.  Please let me know.   Nathan S.
