I have a 12 year old female who routinely lays 3 eggs. She's only been
breeding for 3 years, but I'm going stop breeding her right away. Not
because she's too old, but because every clutch seems to be coming later,
and later. She's also in a noticeable amount of discomfort. I'd rather not
risk anything by continuing to breed her.
If your female only does it once in a blue moon, it shouldn't be a problem.
But since mine lays 3 nearly every time, it is quite a concern.
For those interested, one of the eggs is ALWAYS infertile. She also chooses
to lay it a few inches away from the other eggs.
