Not necessarily, its not unusual for first time breeding females to lay a few 
infertile clutches (I think it takes them a while to get used to making the eggs 
properly!!) in their first season.  But you should get some fertile eggs from her.  I 
had one female that was a first timer last year, she laid 4 eggs, only 1 was 
infertile... 

On the other hand I've got a first timer this year who so far has laid an amazing 12 
eggs- I'm hoping that's her last clutch, she doesnt seem keen to stop!, but only 3 of 
them have been fertile.

Well she hasn't been doing frantic pacing, not that I know of.  She's just been laying 
around and eating. This is her first clutch, so they'll probably 
be infertile right?
