Mites, and *hopefully*, they didn't get to the substrate :(, which you may
want to pitch if she's been in there a while with them on her. I've been
very lucky, but I've heard of them quickly taking over a herp collection.

The only mites I've ever removed have been black, and even then only on my
collared lizards, when I first got them. They guy may very well have mites
throughout the store (yikes!)
