Hi Ray, Mine have always dug a plenty. I had great luck using clay pot bottoms, with an entry hole cut or broken set on sand. I would pour a small amount of water on the clay in the morning to raise humidity while they were in the shelter. > >Also adding rock caves on top of the substrate also. make sure any heavy rocks are glued together if on sand. They can dig under and have the rocks fall and trap them or crush them. The plastic tube can be frustrating, they cant get a grip when digging in one.
