Greetings,
I just admittedly joined the list as I have just begun my gecko keeping again after many years of dart frog keeping/breeding. I am a student from Pennsylvania attending the University of Delaware where I study wildlife conservation. I also am working a lot right now in Costa Rica with different frog (Atelopus and Dendrobate) projects. Enough on me, I just have a quick question to ask. I bought a few P. l. laticauda from a friend (2 sub-adults, 2 eggs-- which incidentally have hatched now) and I was wondering when would be a time I could accurately sex them. While feeding today I noticed one of the sub-adults (roughly 3.5 or 4 inches) was climbing the glass so I could see the underside. I would say it was a male, but I am wondering if I am jumping the gun on when I could sex them accurately. The breeder was unsure of the age as he pulled the babies out of an adult tank. Also, I was wondering what anyone's comments are o
n the
T-Rex day gecko diet. I purchased some very skeptical, but it seems the crested gecko diet has been gaining favor with keepers. I am still feeding flies with the T-Rex food, but comments are welcomed on it. One last question (and I realize I only prepared you for one) was any good day gecko breeders in the states. I am looking for what I suppose are the trendy ones, but I would be most interested in building a small colony of different species by the fall.
Best wishes,
Justin Yeager
