I just went out there a little bit ago, and some ants went devouring one of the crickets, one ant was hauling a cricket leg up the side of the cage. I checked the gecko and he was fine, and scurry around for a minute, then dashed back in his cave. I'll move the cage elsewhere, thanks!.

The gecko in question is real small, I'm positive it's a Mediterranean gecko. I looked in on him a little while ago, and all the crickets were gone?! He doesn't look any bigger, so not sure where they went. :) I have a water dish setup in the cage and he seems to be taking water. I also have an apple core for his/her fruit supplement. A bunch of ants streamed in the cage, so maybe he'll eat those. Please forgive my newbie questions, I do know my reptiles, but mainly alligators and snakes. But I will give you general gecko guidelines. First take the crickets and the pebbles out. The crickets could be stressing the gecko out, and it might accidently swallow a pebble. Put in paper towel for substrate. Leave the gecko alone for 3 days, except for misting twice a day. Maybe this gecko only drinks from misting, I am not sure. After 3 days, put a couple of crickets in at dusk and see if it eats them. Make sure the crickets are a little smaller than the distance between the gex eyes. I know he's nocturnal so he's not too active in the day, but he hasn't eaten yet, atleast any of the crickets. How frequently do they eat? I'm trying not to disturb him during the day, although I did lift the cave up to see if he was still alive. He ran out, and stopped at the side of the glass, he tried to climb up but couldn't. I noticed yesterday, he climb half way up the glass and fell off. I don't know if this is because he's weak from not eating? Any advice? I recently lost some geckos to ants. THey will eat your gecko and crickets very quickly. They can appear with out notice and wreak havoc.
