Title: Bericht
Hi,

This baby looks really good. I was under the impression the baby would be really small when it hatched but it was actually relatively big. I've hatched bibrons this year and they are big but the spider was about the same size.

The only thing that scared me when the baby hatched was that its head was all crumpled up (the skin, that is). I just spray the baby directly with water and daubed it off with a Q-tip. His head was fine after two days ;-)

Good luck with your hatchings! I wish I had some experience to help you out but obviously, I don't ;-)

If I continue to have good luck, I don't know what I'm going to do with 15+ baby spider geckos. It's not like there is a big market for them.

Here's a picture (he's missing a few stripes):

Subject: RE: [gecko]My first spider gecko of the season

Hi Mike,

Congratulations on your spider! We are still struggling to get our first. Well, we had one 2 years ago, but it died within 2 days. Which was already obvious when it hatched. This year we managed to get them to hatching point, but than, again, they died in the egg. A problem we see every year a few times. But I will not give up ;-)
We hatched out a Teratoscincus microlepis this year. We had problems with them in the past, but now we are looking at a fine young animal. Next year, I'm sure there will be more. I hope your other eggs will hatch aslo. Please keep us updated!
Regards,
Isabelle

I've been struggling and stuggling but I got my first spider gecko hatchling of the seaon today (actually, my first spider hatchling ever!) I know it's old just old news for most of you but I it means a lot to me. I only have 8 more eggs to go and presumably 6 more by the end of October. (I started the season late, hence the late babies.)

I want to say a special thanks to Stacy who supplied virtually all of the info I needed to get this far, partially from this list serve but mostly through archives ;-)
