Removing the shell was a mistake but there were a few reasons I did it (some better 
than others). The main one was the point of blood. Although the blood has clotted it 
seems I was mistaken about the size of the yolk sac. It extends to the bottom of the 
gecko but it was ruptured by the crack. The point is small but I'm sure bacteria has 
or will infect soon. I need to decide whether I should get the sac removed by a vet or 
if I should wait and see what happens. The yolk has dried (or "sealed") at the point. 
The baby is still in the membrane.

It would be a shame to have this baby reach the days before a successful hatch, only 
to die to some infection.
