Hi Jared,
I have no problem at with compacts, I just haven't used them as
my cages are all in rows
on shelves, I chose to use tubes. Compacts we're fairly new when
my room was setup.
For Uros, you have to use D3, good UVB or both. Based on my own
experiences and
that of others, UVB lights are not necessary, but I won't
recommend against them.
Neil
Niel,
You sound as is you don't like the idea of the compact flourescents. May I ask why? I really like them myself, and use them before conventional fluor. any time given a choice. They have some pretty nice c.f. UV bulbs now with output around 7000K... very nice.
Jared
