I have two questions about feeder insects. First. I've recently come across some information that crickets have officially been linked with the spread of internal parasites, specifically coccidia. I know this is a particular problem with bearded dragons, as a lot of beardie keepers are switching solely to other insects for feeding. Anyone know whether this is a potential problem for geckos, as well?
The other question is linked to this one I guess. I've started breeding silkworms for my bearded dragons, and the relish them like you wouldn't believe. They're also soft-bodied and very nutritious. My problem is getting my Rhacodactylus ciliatus to accept them. I've seen pictures of leopard geckos eating them, but my cresties won't touch them. I've read that they make good crestie food... Anyone have any tricks to get them to accept them? I kind of feel like once they realize they're food, they'll love them. I just can't get them to try that first one.
thanks for your help Rick
