This is especially directed to Yuri and other gexers living in the SF area. You may recall several years ago I and another volunteer introduced Phelsuma (P. dubia, P. comorensis, P. bombetokensis, P. laticauda angularis) and Hemidactylus to the Conservatory, which at that time, was closed to the public:

About a year ago, Chuck Powell, one of our gecko listers, saw the geckos in there. The Conservatory was rebuilt in sections, exposing the plants and gex to the outside. I was pleased that they were there through any of that! They have been open to the public for over a year:

If you check out the above link photos you can see tons of great places for Phelsuma and Hemidactylus!
What I need is some gexers to go out there that live locally - a staffer contacted me and said there were all gone and he wanted to introduce frogs. You all know what frogs do to gex, so I would really like to be sure before I recommend a frog person to them (Chuck would be the right choice there, President of the American Dendrobatid Society!). If folks could go there and look for the gex who know what these gex look like and where they might hang out, that would be cool. I feel as long as the majority of the plants were in place during the reconstruction, and from what I understand they were, the gex had a fighting chance. Especially those dubia, those suckers are tough! Also look for their poop. That will be easier to find than them!
I won't be able to get out there for another few weeks, so that is why I am asking. The more eyes the better, so bring a friend! The first person that finds a gecko in the Conservatory gets a year's membership in the GGA from me! Bring your camera!
