Well, they make a good gecko if you want try breeding. Unlike the leo eggs which need to have the humidity monitored, bibrons eggs are pretty easy. If you choose to keep only females, you won't have the "problem" of fertile eggs. They will still lay eggs but they won't hatch. I've never kept a lone female but the only real interaction I see with Bibrons is the male to female interaction. The females tend to ignore one another. Also, and this may sound cruel, you don't have to keep any fertile eggs if you were to keep a male and female together. Just throw them out as you find them. Personally, I could never bring myself to do such a thing but people feed live mice to snakes and I find that even more disturbing. Besides, I made it sound bad but Bibrons don't produce any more eggs than even the most exotic or rare geckos. You just need to find someone to buy (or to give for free) the offspring. Even local reptile shops might buy them or trade for them. Or post a For Sale on a reptile board.
Most people will tell you a good first gecko is a leo. With no offence to anyone who keeps them, I really don't like leos. But people don't like some of the geckos I keep either. My prefered gecko is the spider gecko. It is also not a hard gecko to keep and breed (although the hatchlings can be a pain) but I don't generally "test the boundaries" regarding their care. I have a few breeding groups. Anyway, I could go on and on. Have you thought about a Crested Gecko? These are like the "new leo". They are very popular and I like they way they look - but never had one.
