    Lacquer will work but IMHO not the best course, it will outgas for a long time which makes me nausious. A better course would be an epoxy resin. Cures in a day or 2 depending on the type. completely water proof and excettent adhesion to most surfaces.

I am trying to build a better cage for my U. fimbriatus and I was going to use a couple of coats of lacquer to waterproof the wood, inside and out, and a silicone sealant in the corners but I want to make sure It will not hurt her (ie chemicals and whatnot). What do you all think?
