Hi Steve,

Google will yield plenty on searching the species names. Here is one of my favorites:

Thanks for the ideas!

Anyone know where I can find pictures, descriptions of their native habitats and maybe
even care sheets?

Thanks,
Steve

I have had good luck with any Coleonyx except C. elegans, they are a bit
tricky. I have the set-up for them now, however, I would stay away from
them unless you are proficient at C. mitratus ( hardier cousin from
Central America). Check the laws on the native Coleonyx you can keep.
Here in California you can keep a certain number of C. variegatus, need
a fishing license to do so, and cannot sell them or their babies. There
are also restrictions on C. switaki, also known as C. no collectumus
(native to California and Mexico), Coleonyx in national parks, and a
Coleonyx from Texas (not brevis, forget scientific name). C. mitratus
are available in the USA presently, totally legal, and easy to keep with
good instructions.

Anybody have any suggestions for a species like that?

I have very good experiences with Coleonyx variegatus utahensis. The

other northamerican subspecies and C. brevis should do similar.

If you can provide higher humidity try the big chinese/vietnamese

Goniurosaurus species. I keep G. luii for certain years now. Very impressive
animals.
