Howdy gexers,

I had a great time at the North American Breeder's Conference and Trade show! A well run show that shows everyone a good time as well as having outstanding vendors. For us in California, it has been some time since a show had East coast vendors. A very nice change! The variety of herps was very good in spite of the show being snake and leopard gecko heavy. There were lots of turtles and tortoises, even Jeff Gee came out from Arizona! I can't remember the last time I saw him at a show! I did get to see some Strophurus ciliarus, wow, impressive gex!

Friday started out with an icebreaker and pizza feed by Reptiles Mag. NARBC even had a special beer, "Viper Venom," brewed up in honor of the show! Mark O'Shea was everywhere and very kind to give autographs to everyone that asked. Saturday night was an auction for PIJAC (Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council) and a good amount of money was raised for that cause. Marcia of Golden Gate Geckos donated some nice wine and that drew a generous bid. Brian Potter, one of the promoters, was the auctioneer and was more funny than a good auctioneer! ;)

I had a GGA display and membership applications on my table, hopefully there will be some memberships out of that! Cyndi Diekmann and I were running the Gecko Ranch booth as usual and it was refreshing to see herpers we had not seen in many years. As I had hoped, this was a much needed rejuvenation of the herper social scene in California! Even Philippe De Vosjoli was there autographing his books. Everyone cannot wait to come back next year! Hope to see some of you there next time!

Did we go to Disneyland next door? Of course not! ;)
