Termites are the best for quite a few geckos.
If you let your gecko go loose though ...just realize you may take months or you may never re catch him.
I have certain geckos free all year round that do a great job catching stray crickets.
If you do have your place treated. be careful with the gecko, Could be an issue. Also when giving wild insects be sure they arent from an area where pesticides are used.
