Hi Jared,

If I did not show up at my hometown gig folks would think I was deceased! ;)

See you there!

Thanks Julie, I'll be patient, and stop messing with the eggs.

You gonna be at the Sac Reptile show this year, by the way? I hear it's gonna be bigger than ever!

Hi Jared,

I would be worried at this point if it has been more than five days. 3-4 days is normal between any gecko hatchlings of the same clutch. I would not suggested that much candling; probably once at some point is more than sufficient. You don't want to disturb developing eggs. I don't candle at all, I figure handling them after they are a week or so old can only be detrimental.

Yes, dry substrate does lead to dents. You'll have to wait and see on the egg remaining, I wait a minimum of 100days.

I am beginning to get worried about the second egg. How long can it be between clutch mates hatching in Uroplatus henkeli? Should I help it along at any point, and if so, how?

Is there any danger of candling the eggs too much? I generally do it once or twice a week to check development.

Also, there have been two more clutches laid recently, both showing some minor dents in the eggs. The substrate they were buried in was slightly dry, and I wonder if that caused it. Could these eggs still be viable?

Thanks,
Jared
