I can't say enough bad stuff about DHL, but I've had trouble with all of them
over the years.

For instance. I ordered some snake tongs before my trip to Sulawesi last fall
at the last possible moment. They were garunteed the day I left before noon.
That was fine, because my flight out of Austin wasn't till 6pm. When 3 o'clock
rolled by and there was no sign I started getting nervous. I called them up to
see what the deal would be, and was promised a call back with an answer in
15min. 45min later no call. Naturally, I became aggravated. When I called
back and explained the situation - that I was leaving for Indonesia to collect,
among other things, venomous snakes, and was in dire need of my tongs which
should have been delivered hours prior - they told me there was nothing they
could do because my package was in a local facility. When I asked for the
facility's number the woman's answer was "it has no phone number." Yeah right.

It was around that point that I lost it. I explained to the supervising manager
they had several options. They could give me the phone number so I could make
last minute arrangements; they could foward the tongs to an address in Jakarta;
they could arrange for the package to be delivered to the airport in Austin; or
they could arrange for my dead body to be shipped to my grieving parents in the
event I recieved a fatal strike because I didn't have tongs to safely capture a
snake.

They chose to meet me at the airport.
