There have been a number of books published in Germany in the German
language. There are also a couple coming up that will be published in English.
The big recent book news (although not specifically gecko) is that Glaw &
Vences have published the third edition of their classic "A Field Guide to the
Amphibians and Reptiles of Madagascar". The book is now in a bigger format (24
x 17cm), a massive 495 pages, covers over 700 species and has over 1500 color
photos. The gecko section of the book runs to about 54 pages.
