Hi!

Today I tried to compile PCB on a different host. After many iteration
with ./configure (why can't it tell all the things it will need
later...)

if "it" is the configure script, I believe it does tell you when it can't find a required bit. If "it" is the "INSTALL" document then I think it does list the dependencies and the "README.cvs" document I think does list everything you need if you are building from cvs sources.

So, which pcb are you building? Is it a snapshot (which one) or cvs sources (from what date)?

Are there specific things missing from the 2 documents which I need to add?

Shouldn't ./configure look for yacc?

it does, but upon further inspection it doesn't error out with a missing yacc. Could you provide the exact error which was produced?

Thanks
