Hi everyone

I've uploaded a patch to the SF tracker that fixes the PCB auto-pan bug
  when PCB is run under GNOME (I've reported it to the geda-user mailing
list some time ago - see
http://archives.seul.org/geda/user/Nov-2006/msg00192.html).

It looks like Mozilla developers had this same problem a while ago. I've
found a solution on the GNOME bugzilla (you can find the link in the
patch description).
