Hi,

I have done quite a bit of design work with PCB lately, including some
telephony designs http://www.rowetel.com/ucasterisk/4fx.html and the
BlackfinOne project.

Based on this experience I would like to improve the way tracks are
dragged in PCB. At present, when I drag tracks I spend a lot of time
making small changes and cleaning them up manually, as 45 degree angles
are not maintained.

Here is an example of the proposed change (just open it with PCB), each
stage is annotated with text:

http://www.rowetel.com/drag_example.pcb

Basically when track X is dragged to the left, the 45 degree angle
should be maintained, by shortening X. This could be some sort of
selectable option.

Before I start, I have a few questions:

1/ Am I missing something fundamental here, like perhaps I am using PCB
the wrong way and there is a way to drag tracks keeping 45 degree
angles?

2/ I have started scanning the PCB source (very nice to read BTW).
Could anyone point me at the areas/files I should be looking at?

3/ How do others feel about track editing in PCB and how it could be
improved?

Thanks,

David
