Hi Stuart and all, Peter Kaiser asked me to place some installation notes for the SuSE RPMs into the wiki.
Currently the installation notes at http://geda.seul.org/wiki/geda:installation refers your installation iso. I'd like to divert to a different wiki topic that explains the installation of SuSE RPMs. And I'd like to restructure the above artikle a little bit: Installation Help --> Installing the gEDA ISO (the current installation article with a modified first topic) --> Installing Fedora rpms --> Installing SuSE rpms --> Installing from Debian --> Installing from Ubuntu Each subtopic should be either short or only a link to it's own article. What do you think, Stuart? Modified Copy of Peter's Notes ---------snip ----------- [Links to the repositories] [Link to the general description at http://en.opensuse.org/Build_Service/User] 1. Start Yast and go to “Change Installation Source” 2. Add a HTTP source with the following properties: Servername: software.opensuse.org Directory: /download/repositories/home:/werner2101/openSUSE_10.2/ The connectivity to the server will now automatically checked. If it is successful, proceed with the next step. 3. Start “Install Software” in Yast, goto “Search” and look for gEDA. All packages appear. 4. Install the packages as usuall. [Special notes for each SuSE version] ---------snap ----------- Regards Werner _______________________________________________ geda-dev mailing list [email protected] http://www.seul.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/geda-dev
