I believe I found the cause for the "click on focus for zoom" bug that Matt reported some time ago (http://www.seul.org/pipermail/geda-user/2007-February/003729.html). I've put a patch on the SF tracker, but I'm not certain that it won't resurrect the old auto-panning bug (both are connected to the handling of the GDK "crossing" event). So far I haven't seen any problems with it on my machine, but I don't know enough about GTK and X11 to be 100% sure.
