This mailing list is, and always has been, a private non-government forum. Therefor, the usual "Free speech!" defense DOES NOT APPLY to things you say in this forum; the law just doesn't apply here. That doesn't mean we discourage open communications, it does mean that there are some things that we are going to ask you to not discuss here. One obvious example is off-topic posts, like politics or sewing. One not-so-obvious example is patents.
