Hi Peter TB Brett and All, Thank you very much for your response. Yes, so I would suggest we could pre-configure the system-gschemrc with Tools-menu-items with a template scheme code, and encourage others to add script path to that lists, so we can be more organized about scripting and help in visibility to the user. I am not suggesting all schematic/sym related scripts should fit in this scheme of things, its just a recommeded user friendly way to implement scripts if possible. However, there are some issues that we need to discuss and agree on a common preferred way to implement scripts with additional user inputs and/or options using the menu approach.
I would also suggest we add the list of gnetlist script paths to an aggreed ???-menu-item to make them more visible to the users. Some paths may be commented out if the netlisters or scripts are not well known. If user needed them, they can always comment them in. Note that this would not affect anything about the user running the gnetlist or scripts other ways as they wish. Again, some netlisters may need additional user inputs and options, I hope we can find a user friendly and generic ways to implement them. The additional user inputs/options in script issue also applies to the Icon menu scripting approach. Any suggestions and comments are welcome. We already have it: (1) Write a Scheme function which does what you need (2) Add it to menu definitions in system-gschemrc Ideally, we need a similar system for the toolbars.
