Hey -- I had an idea for Gschem regarding write images
In the file > write image dialog, I was thinking it would be cool to
have a method for selecting which part of the circuit gets exported to
the image, before the location dialog. Now, There are options for
resolution and export type, and it is easy to cut off portions of your
schematic on export. The viewing window has to be positioned around
everything that goes to the image. Also, there is no intuitive
alternative color-maps. This is not ideal for web pages and reports,
where a white background would be better.
I propose making a mini preview image of the entire circuit, and then
having a drag-able rectangle to preview what parts of the circuit get
exported. Also, adding a method for making the images without the
default color-map (black background, and green lines) would be ideal for
reports and web pages. Maybe a drop down list that applies a filter to
the mini preview image, and can turn it to different colors.
