I have a big schematic of 11 pages which recently became 12. I had to go through all 11 of the original pages and change the "Page X of 11" part of the titleblock to "12". That got me thinking -- why isn't that automated?
Additionally, whenever I print out schematics, I have to stamp them with one of those old inkpad stamps with a settable date, since there is no automatic "last changed date/time", and I have to manually put the filename in there if I want it printed. And I need to handle the spacing/alignment, color, and size of all these attributes myself. A long time ago I contributed the cvstitleblock to the repository, and it sort of handles this, but only if you use CVS, and only it updates when you check things in. There's no reason all of these things couldn't be automated, and I think it would make for a more professional system. Thoughts?
