Dear all, Just a quick email to let people know that I'm currently without my laptop - dodgy power adaptor, dodgy "fix", now it appears the DC input of the laptop motherboard is fried.
Fortunately it was still working on remaining battery power when I switched it off, so "might" be fixable. Several dozen screws and hidden clips later, I'm now playing guess the charred component. LM39? P[BURNT] If needs be, I'll bite the bullet and buy another laptop so I can focus on getting back to work.
