Done and pushed to berndj/opaque-objects-20080712 [seems I'm still in
git purgatory - I think what I pushed last night was the branch rooted
at a much older rev].
I hope G_{MIN,MAX}INT and INT_{MIN,MAX} are guaranteed to be
the same on platforms where INT_{MIN,MAX} is available!
