Yes that is my understanding.
If you use [macro parm1 parm2 parm3] then parms are expected to be in 0.00001 inch resolution (1/100th of a mil)
If you use (macro parm1 parm2 parm3) then the parms are expected to be in 0.001 inch resolution (1 mil)
